Cinderella, credited to Giambattista Basile in the 17th century, draws inspiration from ancient tales like 'Ye Xian' from 9th-century China. Preceding the European fairytale, Ye Xian's journey resonates with the universal quest for belonging. Co-created by composer Alex Ho and choreographer Julia Cheng, UNTOLD narrates Ye Xian's tale using contemporary classical music, movement, and a blend of Chinese and Western instruments. UNTOLD received the esteemed FEDORA OPERA PRIZE 2023.
