Northern Connection

Sustainable collaboration in contemporary music.

How to collaborate more efficiently and sustainably with our neighbouring countries?

Northern Connection is a new and innovative project that connects Nordic countries with Scotland by establishing and strengthening liaisons between contemporary music composers, ensembles and festivals.

The project is built on principles of sustainable development and ecological awareness, and it enables the creation of long-term cooperative relationships between contemporary music professionals in Northern countries. Commissioned works will get more than one performance and participating ensembles will tour partner festivals in an environmentally sustainable way.

Northern Connection started in 2023 with partners from Finland, Norway and Scotland. In 2024, Iceland and Denmark will join the project.
