360 Degrees: Creating New Concert Formats

An open kitchen session on concert design.

How can we create new concert experiences? How can we open up the form to foster enhancement and exchange? And how can a concert address artistic topics of the now and create more connection between music, the institutions and the artists? Looking at the triangle of a concert: The artist, the audience and the work itself, this session discusses the new roles of musicians, listeners and concert promoters. Come into the open kitchen and enjoy a three-course menu:

Appetiser: Hear new ways of performing from pianist and concert designer Hanni Liang, learn about the ‘rethinking’ of programming from Sergio Roberto Gratteri in his concert series at DAS HAUS, Brussels and how audiences engage with the outreach projects of the Sinfonieorchester Basel presented by artistic director Hans-Georg Hofmann .

Main course: Now it‘s your turn - create your own concert idea in a small design sprint!

Dessert: Voice up! Share your best idea.
