Fiona Stevens completed a PhD researching the non-economic value of music performance at the University of Southampton in 2017. She lectures in the department of Social Work at the University of Applied Science in Darmstadt, holds an MBA in Arts Innovation from the Global Leaders Institute, is a fellow of the DeVos Institute of Arts Management in Washington D.C., and was Executive Director of Concerto Köln, one of Germany’s internationally acclaimed Historically Informed Performance orchestras, from 2022 to 2024. Prior to this role, her career focused on performance as a freelance violinist, during which time she was a member of Sir John Eliot Gardiner’s Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique for 11 years, with concert performances taking her to major venues in Europe and the USA.
