Improvisations, timbres between classical and jazz vocal techniques, and live electronic sound design further expand the infinite and sensual universe of Schubert’s songs, while at the same time enhancing the expressive tools of the human voice, and the harp. After the album Debussy NOW! which was nominated to the Classical:NEXT Innovation Award in 2022, the artists adapted the songs of Franz Schubert to their own instruments and language in a series that finds the way to new audiences beyond classical listeners. While respecting and duly interpreting the original works, they add multiple layers to them, believing that the chosen songs are universal, and that these gems have many faces beyond the traditional approach. During the live experience improvisations enrich the textures, inspired by the lyrics and the atmosphere of the songs, connecting them into one ethereal flow. Schubert’s songs have a clear focus on rhythm, which inspired the musicians to build 21st century grooves into the sound design.
