His sets reflect his recent works, mingling his remixes of classical masters like Ravel with leftfield electronic music, experimental ambient and post-contemporary beats. Selections range from his own compositions, taken from recent recordings THE KAPUSTIN PROJECT (Sony Classical); LOOPHOLE (Nonclassical), his contribution to KLANGBOX IV (Feral Note), FRACTAL (Oscillations Records), up to recent experiments with piano and electronics, as well as tunes by his peers and cutting-edge soundscapes and tunes from exciting artists. Roman applies some live-remixing to his sets, spicing it up with granular loops and post-contemporary grooves.
Roman Rofalski studied classical piano in Hannover and jazz in New York City. Rofalski’s concerts have taken him around the world, from solo recitals to all kinds of chamber music performances. He is a member of the Oh Ton-Ensemble for contemporary music and works closely with the Stockhausen Foundation. His recent musical endeavors incorporate electronics into a playful and improvised live setting of piano recitals, always bringing a shade of ‘90s techno from the club to the concert hall. Since 2020, Roman has been a professor of piano at HMTM Hannover.
