Musical repertoire: agent for inclusion and social change

Empowering communities through music and collective action

Using music as a tool for inclusion, we redefine cultural rights and empower vulnerable communities through innovative musical repertoires.

Medellín is marked by complex social challenges and music schools reflect the social reality of the territories they inhabit. But how can musical repertoire become a driving force for cultural inclusion and the validation of rights? Faced with alarming statistics, the Red de Músicas de Medellín proposes a bold approach: ensuring the exercise of cultural rights through educational processes that challenge traditional repertoires and instrumental formats.

Vulnerable children and young people collectively empower themselves through musical creation, transforming their reality through sonic exploration. This is not just about expanding opportunities, but about redefining the relationship with communities, using music as a tool to strengthen social cohesion, connect with the realities of our most vulnerable communities and validate their cultural rights.
