The annual Dutch Composers’ Day celebrates the value, importance and joy of contemporary music with more than 150 activities in over 15 cities, as well as on radio, TV and online. A special train (the New Music NOW Express) connects cities musically, with public concerts at railway stations. It involves young and old, and all musical levels. What seemed an impossible undertaking has become a benchmark for new music in the Netherlands. Wouldn’t it be great to turn this into an international event?
