Our challenge is to have a learning partnership to find ways to be consistently adapting for creative and adventurous learning. We must avoid consistent evaluations like examinations and learn to trust our teachers to assess the students’ progress. A great example of this new model of pedagogy in Finland is found in its general music school curriculum. Student assessment for composition and improvisation is carried out by peers. Teachers need support and encouragement to step out from their safe zone. Experimenting new tools, games and recent advances in AI will help inspire teachers find new ways to engage the learner. Reviewing the latest research data will guide us to better results without feeling negatively pressured to conform to a unified way forward. This roundtable discussion will give an opportunity for participants to share, learn about and discuss new pedagogical approaches that will help transform learning engagement.
