Project Pitch

A Road to Wesleyville

A Road to Wesleyville is a project that brings together traditional Western Classical Music and Indigenous fiddling culture.

“A Road To Wesleyville”, commissioned in 2022 by Canada’s Juno award winning piano quartet “Ensemble Made In Canada” was composed by Wesley Hardisty and arranged by Carmen Braden. This 15-minute suite displays the Métis fiddling style complimented with classical textures and harmonies. This unique work offers a fresh and fun soundscape that represents the current efforts being made in Canada in the cultural sector, recognising the incredible talent of indigenous Canadian artists, working on reconciliation between indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.
